great starter
i do indoor and outdoor and woods ball its great a little bit heavy but its great for begginers
Tippman 98 custom
I think that some people in the past that have bought the gun have said it was too heavy for them its really not that heavy, but thats just my opinion. This is a great gun its fully customizable.
Possibly the best marker out there
The best word to describe the Tippmann 98 Custom series has to be 'amazing'. As an beginner, there are many markers out there that may catch your eye, but they usually end up being around the $300-$400 (& up) price range, and, if you're like me, you want to enjoy paintball without having to dish out half a grand just to own a marker. Now, while there are markers like the Tippmann TPN Bravo One Elite and the Tippmann TPN Sierra One (both very good markers as well), the 98 Custom is the marker of choice for rental use at the place where I go paintballing. This, to me, says it is a very good choice.
If you are going to purchase a 98 Custom, make sure that you buy one with ACT (Anti-Chop Technology). This is something that I would say is basically essential to have, as it will reduce the probability that a paintball will end up being 'chopped' when you are firing (which would end up costing you time to clean out your marker rather than having fun with it!). Another suggestion I personally would make is to upgrade the stock barrel to a J&J Ceramics barrel, as they are noted to be 'self-cleaning' (meaning that, should you chop a ball, the marker is still usable).
All-in-all, the Tippmann 98 Custom is, in my opinion, the best 'bang-for-you-buck' marker available, and I would highly recommend purchasing this.
