Sunday September 23rd,, 2012 - The Grid Fighters and GFL 2012 Season Finale has wrapped up another great action-packed season. 2012 saw the introduction of the Grid Fighters format hosted by the X Sports, and without a doubt, it was a success with both players and spectators alike.
Sunday July 22nd, 2012 - The X Sports Event 2 / GFL E3 has wrapped up another successful event.... and what a weekend it was! With our gear bags in the trunk, driving down the main strip of downtown Gananoque, windows down with “Ghost Busters” blaring from the radio, we were ready for another weekend of paintball. I had forgotten all about the excitement that paintball brought to my life before the GFL and Grid Fighters. The long road trips out of the GTA were always so bitter-sweet, but such is the life of a paintball player...
June 23rd, 24th 2012 - Gananoque, Ontario - This past weekend was the first event of The X Sports Festival series, and the second event of the GFL series, in the beautiful 1000 Islands town of Gananoque. It was a gorgeous weekend, and the town was bustling with tourists visiting the region for its many appealing attractions.
GFL Event 1, 2012 is a wrap and what an event it was at Ground Zero Paintball in Gananoque, Ontario!! Arriving at the venue for the first time this season reminded me of how much I love this sport. Any self-proclaimed Xball players in the central division (I’d even go as far as saying eastern division) must have had experienced a weekend in this town.

Saturday September 3rd 2011 marked the final event of the GFL’s first season. Held at Defcon Paintball in Downsview Park, Toronto, this event couldn’t have been set at a more opportune time, gratefully complimented with backdrop music and live bands from the Concert for Japan. Now this is something you don’t see at every paintball tournament!
To sum it up in 3 words, it was HOT, HOT and boy was it HOT! Putting Mother Nature aside, this past installment of the GFL was held at Ground Zero Paintball in beautiful Gananoque, Ontario, once again combining the 3rd event for the Eastern division with the 4th event of the Central division.
Sunday June 26th, 2011 brought the conclusion of another successful event for GFL. This event, 3rd of a series of 5 for Central teams and 2nd for Eastern teams, was held in the midst of the Xtreme Sports Trade Show hosted by the town of Gananoque in Ontario. Black Pony BMX’ers, skateboarders and paintball players alike converged at the town’s recreation center to put on a show like no other, showcasing their skills and talent within each of their respective extreme sport. Although the rain put a damper on the skateboard and BMX outdoors events, it surely didn’t stop paintball players!
Starting off the first event of the Eastern Conference was Hopperz Paintball in Almonte, ON. The field was well-kept, and the outdoor turf made for a strong venue. Teams from across Quebec, and Ontario showed bright and early, getting ready for the first installment of the Eastern Conference GFL. Teams at this venue were shooting the Inka Silver – Fire God, a newer installment in the Inka Silver fills. Peter Evans of Kingston Criminal Factory stated “This is the best Inka I have shot so far! Great fill, very brittle, and broke on anything I shot at!”
In the second installment of the GFL, we find ourselves at Next Paintball in Pickering, ON. The size of the field gave teams in both the Open and Entry divisions alike room to make some more aggressive moves off the break, opening up high scoring matches. Teams once again took advantage of the Inka Silver – Feathered Serpent.
Kicking off the introduction to the new GFL, was Flagswipe Paintball out of London, ON. Teams from across Ontario and Quebec traveled to compete in this year’s fastest, and most exciting format, looking to walk away on top of their division. The venue itself was well lit, and very clean for the Open division to start the day. Teams for this event were shooting Inka Silver – Feathered Serpent… and lots of it!
