Thankfully San Diego was warm for the 4th NPPL event of the year. I missed last year's event but in 2004 it was cold and rainy. This year it was all sunshine and heat - just the way California should be.

The biggest shocker of the event was the mass exodus from team XSV by four of their players: JR, Rusty, Glen, and Davey. XSV is ranked #1 and it is very unusual to see the #1 team lose players like this. The remaining players fought hard and came away taking 6th place with enough points to leave them in 1st place for the series this year.

Dynasty took third at the event, putting them only 3 points behind XSV in the overall standings for the year. If Dynasty can take the win at the next event they could still maintain their #1 position in the NPPL and remain the undisputed world champs.

Joy Division (below) took 1st place - the first time a non-US team has won the pro-division in the NPPL. The Angel 1 is definitely helping the Swedes along by being able to shoot paint so brittle that no other marker can shoot it. Joy are currently ranked 4th.

Above: John Rice (JR) the designer of the Angel series of markers works away on his laptop at the Angel tech tent along side Angel Force Master Techs Robert Moon, and Sean and Eric Bratten.

Two hotties selling raffle tickets for some prize giveaway the Stoned Assassins were holding.

Want to know why Impact has been doing so well in the Semi-Pro division? It's simple, they hired a Mexican Pro-Wrestler to play on the team.

Above - Impact enjoys a visit from the raffle girls.

Right - Ouch! Zane from Impact takes one for the team.

Impact continued to play strongly taking second place in semi-pro, putting them in 3rd overall in their divsion and only 3 points behind the second place team.

Above left- Justin from Badlands Calgary, and Impact's killer in the snake, holds the 2nd place trophy after Impact's big win. Above right - Justin and Trevor on stage accepting the trophy and medals for the team. Until next year, stay classy San Diego.
