Jacksonville 2008
Jacksonville. For some reason the NPPL replaced the Tampa event with this one. I have to say I was disappointed with the change. Tampa has been one of my favorite events and unfortunately, Jacksonville just did not live up to Tampa's reputation. I was not the only one to feel this way as many people expressed the same bewilderment at the change from a successful past venue. Sadly, this event was very quiet and attendance was down dramatically. On the upside, I did get to spend some time in sunny (and warm) Florida - always a plus for a winter weary Canadian like myself.
I didn't take many pictures at this event. Perhaps it was because the event was slow and disappointing for me - none of the Badlands' pro teams made it to Sunday (a very rare occurrence - maybe even a first!). The event wasn't a total wash, however, as Vancouver Impact took 2nd, and Dynasty Entourage took 1st in the Semi-Pro Division.
Despite the lack of excitement for me at the field, we still managed to go out and have a good time at the NPPL Players Party!
Buffalo in July promises to be a better venue, as the event is sure to be crawling with Canadians, and Canadians know how to have a good time!
