iR3 Tech Class

With the release of the awesome new iR3, Angel techs from around the world were called to England to receive their updated certification for this innovative new marker. More than 70 top techs arrived in Birmingham to spend a couple of fun-filled days learning the in's and out's of the new iR3. Yet again, WDP surpassed themselves by making the course a successful event and making sure that everything ran smoothly. From start to finish the 2002 iR3 tech class was a top-notch event. Come take a look.

The class was quiet first thing in the morning before everyone arrived. You can imagine what happened as soon as 70+ paintball techs, all eager to try out the baddest new toy on the planet, got their iR3's gassed up and started to test fire them. Ear plugs anyone?

The class brought together techs from the world over. Canada, the UK, the USA, France, Germany, Spain, South America, Sweden, Finland, Russia, and Norway were all represented. Although the class was conducted in English and some techs could hardly speak a word, everyone profited from the wealth of knowledge provided by John Rice, WDP's top designer and course instructor.

Both Frazer and Stine worked hard to make sure the event ran smoothly. Together with Russ from Hawaii, Stine did an excellent job as videographer, capturing some rather entertaining moments on film. Unfortunately, some of these were too colorful to share with the rest of the world (Norway is grateful, I'm sure).

Of course, no WDP event would be complete without the requisite drinking contest. The Norwegian contingent swears that WDP stands for We Do Party. No one who has ever been to one of these events could rightly claim otherwise. The contest, we are proud to say, came down to England vs. Canada, and Canada took the prize. Our Canadian Olympic athletes would be proud.

The competition was fierce. Left: Here Team England shows their fine form. Notice the poise and the high level of skill necessary to get mildly entangled in a bar stool. Notwithstanding such high calibre opponents, Team Canada still managed to rise to the challenge and stay off the floor.

For you youngsters out there, there is a lesson to be learned here: Never pass out during a drinking contest! After decorating the women's washroom, Simon passed out on the couch and was subjected to various forms of abuse, including copious amounts of ice cubes being poured down his pants. The tech event was a great success. Everybody had a great time and the iR3 blew all the techs away. WDP, as always, hosted an awesome event and proved time and time again why they are the leaders in the industry. The iR3 is about to take the world by storm.
